He 4th, 5th and 6th September 2026, the picturesque Castle of Pierle, in Mercatale di Cortona (AR), hosts the new edition of “Calici sotto la Rocca”. The Rocca di Pierle becomes the perfect meeting point for three days of celebration, tastings and entertainment featuring local dishes, wines and music.
An unmissable opportunity to experience the magic of a medieval village celebrating, dedicated to food and wine excellence and entertainment. The event is presented by the association Together for the Valley, in collaboration with ANAG Toscana, and this year sees the special participation of TIM-ES, exceptional partner for this fantastic edition.
Event schedule
This year the programme is enriched with unique shows and multilingual guided tours. In addition, every day the event will be accompanied by live music by the Los Frangos.
Friday 4th September
- From 18:00 Tasting of local dishes and wines.
- 6:30 pm → Guided tour of the fortress (Cost: €5 – English tour available).
- 9:30 pm → Breathtaking fire show by Artharex.
Saturday 5th September
- From 18:00 Tasting of local dishes and wines.
- 6:30 pm → Guided tour of the fortress (Cost: €5 – English tour available).
- 9:30 pm → Medieval fencing show with Company of Rust.
Sunday 6th September
- From 17:00 Early opening for the tasting of local dishes and wines.
- 6:30 pm → Guided tour of the fortress (Cost: €5 – English tour available).
Between goblets and… typical dishes
Throughout the three-day event, at the foot of the castle, you will find stalls ready to delight you with the best local flavours. As well as the great classics of local tradition, the organisers have thought of everyone: there will also be vegetarian products and options non-alcoholic (0% alcohol).
